As far as legends go in the automotive world, it goes without saying that the ac cobra ranks in the highest. Getting its start as a small british import roadster, it took one man by the name of carroll shelby to take this relatively mild sport roadster and turn it into a fire breathing monster. Originally shelby approached chevrolet to provide a power plant for the initial run of cobra's but not wanting in house competition for the corvette, chevrolet declined his proposal. Ford on the other hand was searching for any means necessary to provide the corvette with a challenge and gladly provided the power for what would become one of the greatest gt cars ever produced. After numerous victories worldwide, it's easy to see why this is one of the most re produced vehicles in the world. This cobra was built to be cruised and is powered by the ever reliable ford 302 mated to a 5 speed manual transmission. Most of these replicas are roadsters or daytona coupes, but this is something else completely. This coupe has only 1600 miles on the odometer! This cobra was built with no expense spared. Everything from the steering components to the suspension is top notch. Under the hood of this sleek sports car is a 406 cid stroker motor with edelbrock aluminum heads. There is a march billet serpentine pulley system, edelbrock carburetor with polished aluminum intake manifold, and an oversized aluminum radiator with trans cooling system. The exhaust runs through jet coated headers and chrome side exhaust. There is also an msd ignnition system. One of the best parts about this car is that it has a vintage air a/c and heater. The engine is mated to a tci built 4 speed overdrive automatic transmission with a tci torque converter and a b&m mega shifter. There is a currie 9-inch rear end. This car rides on a race-toned suspension with coil overs. It has rack and pinion front end, posi-traction and 4-wheel disc brakes. The cobra rides on custom chrome mag wheels with nitto racing tires. Can't forget about the ididit tilt steering column. So many little details on this car make it so special.
