And it all ends where the well-creased tailfins hover above the jet engine-like taillights. The roofline profile of this coupe starts with a sporty windshield rake and abruptly finishes in sharp turn back towards the body. It starts up front where a sleekly rounded hood ends at a point to give the Thunderbird a true beak AM/FM

Outside, the original code b lime frost turquoise was mercifully wiped asunder for shades of vintage burgundy, and that's one of the best colors for mustangs of any year. The bumpers are straight and shiny, the trim's nice for original stuff and the lenses are clean. It looks like most of the chrome has been refinished recently, and thanks to the massive aftermarket supporting the mustang, new stuff is easy to find and shockingly affordable. Inside, ford got it right by putting in black buckets. The bright silver dash trim is a welcome accent to the black upholstery. And coupes are great because they offer big trunk space, even with a full-sized spare living under the plaid cover. When it was pulled out of long-term storage, the engine was thoroughly serviced and tuned, but didn't need any major surgery and has that smooth, torquey feel that these engines made famous. A chrome air cleaner dresses things up a bit and there are plenty of new parts in the ignition system, so it lights off easily and idles smoothly right off the bat. Backing up the 289 is a hearty c4 3-speed automatic transmission and the stock 8-inch rear is in place, holding highway friendly 3. 00 gears. The floors are original but in good order and the only notable exterior upgrade are those handsome wheels, which look a lot like torque thrusts and carry 215/60/15 blackwall radials. A sharp mustang in a great color, with good power under the hood, a clean interior and some nice wheels is always nice to have. One that's available for the price of a used kia is even better. The seating in both front and back doesn't show much wear at all and the front buckets straddle a center console that still sits straight and securely moored in place with its Cobra emblem completely intact. It's draped with Ford's distinctive Highland Green shade - one of the most sought after of its time and looking great underneath a very strong clear coat, with a pair of broad racing stripes running from hood to deck lid that still have their sharp edges

Ford realized the missed opportunity the year this '66 arrived and lengthened its hood a bit more while shortening its rear deck, resulting in this Futura's instantly recognizable musc. While the Falcon's modest weight and roomy engine compartment made it a natural for performance enthusiasts, that was a role the model had to grow into, as the earlier versions were marketed more on their practicality. This 1966 Ford Falcon Futura features a striking exterior that's sure to draw plenty of attention, and it's armed for action, with a nicely sized, well-equipped motor under the hood to rocket this compact cruiser with plenty of authority

For a car originally conceived to provide dependable transportation, the falcon has enjoyed quite a life as a coveted classic for restoration. It was a relatively compact car based on the standards of its day, and its reliable design would go on to influence several other ford models to come. It's great to see this 1965 ford falcon futura greet the present in good form and ready for the next phase of its life. At a time when most other cars remained substantially sized, ford stuck to its guns and resisted the temptation to noticeably enlarge the falcon over the years. While it's certainly no subcompact, it's a compact, sporty looking ride, with a squared off appearance that distinguishes it from its predecessors. The deep maroon paint this '65 wears looks nice, showing no major blemishes, and the long stretches of white on its sides add some effective additional detail. From the grille and ford lettering that sit over a table-level bumper in front, to the futuristic round taillights in back, all of its chrome is present and accounted for, though some of it could use a little polishing to bring out its best. Some very adept modification work was done to provide the dual exhaust with just the right amount of extension below the rear bumper. A contrasting power white convertible top has been recently added to this open-air cruiser for protection from uncooperative weather and it rises into place without issue, fits great and features a clear plastic rear window. The black vinyl interior has come through the years in good shape. The seating shows only minor wear up front and virtually none in back and looks sharp over clean black carpeting. The woodgrain steering wheel sitting on its column is about the only deviation from factory configuration inside, and the components that surround it still present well. The dash area is particularly impressive - its individual panels still line up and the broad speedometer and round gauges to either side of it remain clear and easily readable. The dash pad does show some cracking, but that's an easy fix. The trunk area is also fairly spacious, its floor lined with signature ford fabric. The engine compartment has held onto its stock look and is nice and clean. A 289-cubic inch v8 fits well between the shock towers, looking sharp with its chrome air cleaner and valve covers. The 289 has forged a strong reputation for its complaint-free durability - there are still a substantial number of them on the road many decades after they were first introduced and, true to form, the one on display here still starts promptly, teaming with a 3-speed automatic c4 transmission to make up a dependable, low-effort drivetrain. A look below will reveal an impressive undercarriage, with solid-looking floorpans and straight suspension components. This sharp looking classic rides on a set of 14" stock ford wheels outfitted with cornell 1000 tires. It's a rare find to begin with, and the solid condition of this 1965 ford falcon futura makes it even more so.

An intricate front grille sits just under the vibrant emblem on the hood, the long stretches of trim on its sides look impressively sharp, and with compact ornaments cresting both of its front fenders and arched trim sitting just above each pair of its twin headlights, this Fairlane 500 is one very dist. With its blue and white paint looking sharp, and its assembly of chrome representing particularly well, this Fairlane takes a back seat to no other car when it comes to vintage style, as it carries far more than its share of late '50s elegance from front to back. Its face-like front features an endearingly beefy bumper that, like its counterpart in back, looks to have been recently installed

Car buying enthusiasm was really starting to ramp up in the aftermath of wwii and ford would decisively beat its rivals to the punch to accommodate the demand it created, offering this 1949 ford custom sedan - the first all-new design featured in any post-war car and a vintage ride that greets the present in unusually road-ready condition. The ford design team, no longer content with the prevailing norm of sticking with relatively minor modifications year over year, instead opted to create a car from the ground up that, with the exception of its drivetrain, was very different than anything that came before it. The result was this sleek sedan, with a streamlined shape and fully integrated fenders that no longer protrude from its corners, the way its predecessors did just a year before. Its refined form wears a deep blue shade, offset with a still-impressive display of chrome, especially up front where the grille and rugged front bumper sit underneath the semi-circle ford badge with an awesome bullet-like protrusion at dead center. Despite its years, this '49 has done a great job of avoiding the ravages of gravity and extensive use - its body panels are still evenly spaced and all of its chrome trim and badging remains securely in place. It's one seriously cool vintage interior sitting just inside the doors and looking pretty darned vital at that. The door panels feature a sharp pinstripe pattern and handles that are all still functional. The dash area must have seemed very futuristic when this sedan debuted, with the large dial of its speedometer sitting just above the row of control switches and an am radio and generously-proportioned analog clock at its center. The original 239 cubic inch flathead v8 sits with its ornate, black-capped air cleaner and unusually clean surfaces in the engine bay, and it's not just there for authenticity's sake - it starts right up and, with new water and fuel pumps onboard, remains fully capable of real-world driving. A number of other steps have been taken to better equip this vintage sedan for frequent use, including the conversion to a more dependable 12-volt electrical system, as well as the addition of a new master cylinder, power brake booster and fuel lines. A look below at the solid undercarriage will reveal yet another feature that was revolutionary for its time: a ladder-style steel frame that carries a fully-independent front suspension. This well-priced vintage sedan is ready to roll on a set of 15" stock original ford wheels wrapped with frontier golden jet radials. Vintage sedans are hard to come by to begin with, but factor in an original configuration and impressively solid running condition and they become far more so ...
